Project ENTHUSE

 Project ENTHUSE is the largest ever opportunity for teachers of science to engage in high quality Continuing Professional Development at NO COSTENTHUSE Awards provide funding for every professional development course at the National Science Learning Centre.

The ENTHUSE Award, covers:

·         Course fees

·         Accommodation and food

·         A grant towards travel and supply cover

·         Additional funds to support follow-up activities in the school/college.

All teachers, lecturers, teaching assistants and technicians from all maintained schools and colleges in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are eligible for ENTHUSE Awards.

Most of the courses are residential, usually of four days duration and split over 2 residential periods with time for teachers to implement their action plan in between. The full course programme can be viewed at www.slcs.ac.uk/national/courses

The Centre is equipped with excellent facilities, including

·         the highest specification teaching laboratories

·         a 300 seat demonstration lecture theatre

·         a Resource Centre containing the UKs largest collection of science teaching resources

·         ample well equipped teaching rooms and break out spaces

 All of this is designed to engender a professional atmosphere, where teachers, lecturers and technicians can participate in the highest quality professional development, explore the Resource Centre or simply meet like-minded colleagues to share ideas and experiences.

 Based on the University of York campus, delegates can rest easy in our business class residential accommodation, Franklin House, only a minute’s walk from the Centre.
