Your Commitment

iCount is GE’s commitment to work with schools and colleges to support education.

A relationship built on mutual respect for the joint commitment of school and business to running an effective volunteer programme will be a successful one, as long as good communication channels are also established.

Finance, time, expertise and people are valuable resources which need to be managed efficiently to ensure they are being used productively and having an impact.

GE understands that the first priority of a school is the education and welfare of its pupils and occasionally a school or a specific member of staff will be hard to reach.  There are also times when business priorities for GE will have to come first.

GE's expectations when working with a school or college are that they will make every effort to:

  • Help organise CRB checks if necessary
  • Establish a single point of contact
  • Work with GE to build a Service Level Agreement
  • Provide data and feedback
  • Encourage contact between the Head Teacher and GE's senior leadership

In return, GE will also establish a single point of contact and make every effort to ensure that it meets the commitments agreed in the Service Level Agreement and by it's volunteers.
