2012 Olympic Games

GE is a worldwide Olympic partner up to and including the London 2012 Games.

Over the last few months a number of GE sites have been running workshops in conjunction with LOCOG (The London Olympic Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games) to launch Get Set a programme which will encourage young people to consider how the Olympic Values (Excellence, Friendship and Respect) and the Paralympic Values (courage, determination, inspiration and equality) can be used to make a difference within their school or college and to drive change

So far sites in Amersham, Hounslow, London, Prestwick and Truro have been involved with plans to expand the programme throughout the year.

About 30 primary and secondary schools have been involved and they are hoping to become Get Set accredited schools by the end of the year.
