HTI

HTI is a not-for-profit organisation working in partnership with business, education and government to enhance the leadership abilities of teachers and the employability of young people.

The GE Foundation, HTI and GE volunteers have built a flagship UK project that will help young people from disadvantaged areas to realise their potential.

Stretch, Challenge and Excite

Stretch, Challenge and Excite aims to raise the aspirations, attainment and attendance levels of bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.  There is compelling evidence that young people from such backgrounds can 'miss out' on opportunities because of their circumstances.   However, with a little additional support, they will go on to achieve their full potential.

Working with 11-14 year olds at Key Stage 3, GE volunteers are providing valuable experiences by sharing their individual skills, talents and interests.  Projects and activities are being developed either from school requests for specific support or via offers from employees reflecting their own energy, enthusiasm and specialist knowledge.

Across the country programmes have evolved including mentoring, leading discussions on wide-ranging topics, sharing travel experience, introducing an interest in the arts, sport, languages, literature and science, along with sharing business skills for the world of work.
