Strong business skills are becoming more and more important in education, both for teachers and students. Different school will have different needs and be looking for expert advice in a variety of areas.
This material is from a GE Foundation programme run by ABLAZE and GE Capital Solutions in Bristol. The programme involved training school leadership in some Six Sigma tools and using the DMAIC process to build a team made up of both GE and school staff to work on improving a critical issue. The project was called Excellence in Bristol Schools.
The programme also engaged other businesses and helped them create strategic partnerships with schools. This is great example of how GE can build its profile in the wider community.
The original project involved three days joint training on the material, but training could be done in
the team while working on the project.
